Peel Thunder’s younger brigade have shone in the team’s return to the training track, as players get back into the swing of football after a Christmas and New Year’s break.
The coming season will see a number of players climb from Peel’s colts line-up into the reserves and league outfits, a progression that general manager of football operations Andrew McBean said was encouraging for the club.
“I feel with regards to the playing side, the number of colts who have progressed through the pathway are training solidly. Players such as (Michael) Tassone, (Matthew) Dean, (Alex) Cohen, (Noah) Hura, (Michael) Humble to name a few,” he said.
“All senior payers are back on the training track after a solid and successful 2016 season. We have an exciting young list and looking to see another promising year in the WAFL competition.”
Off the field, Peel Thunder has added Brad Dodd as senior development coach and named new assistants in former Warnbro Swans coach Shannon Cole and ex-Peel player Danny Chartres.
The club is looking to its fresh faces and younger players to gel with the existing core group of players like Gerald Ugle, Rory O’Brien and Blair Bell as they aim to go back-to-back after claiming their first WAFL premiership in 2016.
