What happened in February
HOCKEY: Peel representatives Emma Jones, Shanae Wardrope and Jessica Wade returned home from the under 15s National Indoor Hockey Championships in Wollongong, New South Wales with gold medals to show for it.
FOOTBALL: Eager juniors were put through their paces at trials for Peel Thunder’s inaugural Ocean Hill academy.
BOXING: Mike Pedrana was preparing to get in the boxing ring to privately raise money for his friend and Mandurah resident Tonia Hutton, who is battling cancer.
RACING: To celebrate the Magic Millions coming to town, Pinjarra Park held a Ladies Day.
RACING: The Mandurah Board Riders club held the Cockroach Cup at the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club, a fundraiser organised by volunteer committee members.
CRICKET: The Rockingham-Mandurah Mariners booked their ticket to the 50-over grand final with a win over Subiaco-Floreat.
FOOTBALL: The Peel Thunderbirds rattled their tins for victims of the South West bushfires in January.
FOOTBALL: The Fremantle Dockers kicked off their pre-season in style with a huge win over Richmond at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
