The Addams Family will be moving to Mandurah Performing Arts Centre in January 2017, and what a group of neighbours they will be.
Everyone’s favourite family will take up residence at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre between January 19 and 22 and they promise to provide a lot of fun and some kooky thrills for everyone.
With talented cast and crew mostly drawn from the Mandurah region, the show will bring a spooky opening to the 2017 season.
“The show is a riot,” according to Director, Ryan Taaffe.
“The characters come to life onstage and update the family that have delighted audiences young and old across generations.”
The new Broadway musical plays out what happens when Wednesday Addams falls in love with a “normal” boy all the way from Ohio and the two families have to meet.
With a wonderful score by Andrew Lippa (The Little Princess, Wild Party) and originally starring Nathan Lane (The Producers, The Birdcage), the musical seamlessly blends the whole story together and perhaps shows us that there is a little bit of Addams in all of us.
“I think a lot of kids will see how much Mum and Dad, remind them of Gomez and Morticia and will definitely side with Pugsley when it comes to all that mushy, romantic stuff.” Mr Taaffe said.
Mandurah Performing Arts Centre will also undertake a change.
“The foyer will become a paradise for the Addams Family” MPAC manager Guy Boyce said.
“There will be ghoulish activities for everyone to undertake as Addams Family fever takes over in January.
“There might even be a few spooky Christmas activities to prepare us all for the Addams Family moving in, but don’t worry it – will be a scream.”
Go along to MPAC to find out more at the Christmas Pageant on the 13 December from 6.30pm onwards.
There will be Christmas with the Addams Family spooky Christmas Craft activities and the bar will be open for refreshments.
For the young and the mummified, tickets are now on sale from www.manpac.com.au or the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre Box Office on 9550 3900.
