Man arrested after Greenfields police chase

A Mandurah man was arrested after a police chase through Greenfields overnight.

Just before midnight on Tuesday, Regional Operations Group officers were patrolling Greenfields when they saw a white Mitsubishi Magna with false number plates on Murdoch Drive.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it is alleged that the driver has attempted to evade police, accelerating away onto Irrawaddy Drive.

Police lost sight of the vehicle, but located it a short time later where it had crashed into the fence of a property.

A man was seen running into bushland and was apprehended by officers after a short foot pursuit.

The 31-year-old man has been charged with:

  • Fail to Stop
  • No Authority to Drive (never held)
  • Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
  • Fail to Stop after at the scene of an incident where property was damaged
  • Reckless Driving

He will appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on December 23.
