Secret Harbour Primary's oval was awash with colour this afternoon as the students ran through plumes of pigment to raise money for better shade in the playground.
“A lot of the trees around the area have died or been removed so we need better shade around the school grounds,” Secret Harbour’s corporate services manager Samantha Letch said.
“The money will go towards installing more shade, sails and things, so the children are protected from the sun.”
The students – and some of the teachers, including principal Lisa Fletcher – ran sponsored laps around the oval, with volunteers at stations around the route to shower the children with brightly-coloured pigment.
The amount raised is yet to be determined.
