The ‘nude food’ concept is all about reducing the amount of packaging waste and eating more fresh food.
On Friday the students at Halls Head Primary School embraced ‘nude foods’ by dressing in the colour of their favorite fruit or vegetable and bringing fresh lunches and snacks without unnecessary wrapping.
“The theme has been ‘eat the rainbow’,” teacher Nardine Sheridan said.
“Parents were encouraged to take the opportunity to have their children try a variety of colourful, natural foods.”
On Tuesday the students did a waste audit of their usual lunch boxes, to compare to their lunch boxes on Friday when they made an effort to reduce their food waste.
The students also engaged in art activities using fruits and vegetables, and won fresh food prizes from Farmer Jack’s.
