The Mandurah BMX Club was well-represented at the BMX Western Australia State Championships held in Balcatta earlier this month.
Mandurah’s club made up 35 of the more than 600 participants to hit the track at Westside, with nine locals returning home at state plate winners.
Michelle Newport (over 30 women), Bella Pantalone (8s girls), Keeley Edwards (13s girls), Ella Purser (8s girls), Chayse Armitage (9s girls), Kara Harrison (12 under cruiser, 11s girls), Lillyrose Harrison (14s girls), Eli Pantalone (9s boys) and Jack Newman (10s boys) all picked up state plates in their respective classes.
Mandurah BMX Club was also well represented in the mini-wheelers, sprocket and cruiser divisions.
Kara Harrison competed in the 12 under Cruiser where she finished 5WA and also competed in the 11 Girls, bringing home another 5WA.
A number of other club riders competed strongly at the titles, with many just missing out on a shot at the finals.
Mandurah BMX Club is located on Park Road next to Caterpillar Park. Racing is every Saturday at 10am. Find the club on Facebook or email mandurahbmxclub@gmail.com
