The Mandurah Triathlon Club is on the hunt for new participants with the starter’s gun set to blast this weekend.
Distances for the nine-race season include a standard 300-metre swim, a 15-kilometre bike ride and a three kilometre run.
A half-distance course is also on offer for those keen to test their abilities before committing to the full triathlon.
The focus is on enjoyment of the sport in a no-pressure environment, where competitors can go as fast or as slow as they prefer.
The club’s first race, set to be held at Doddi’s Beach this Sunday, will feature the swim close to shore, a relatively flat bike ride and a similarly-styled run.
Competitors will need to supply their own goggles, bike, helmet and running shoes. The race kicks off at 7am, but participants must register at 6.30am.
