Major Crash officers are investigating a fatal crash which occurred in Waterloo near Bunbury on Sunday about 4.12pm.
A blue and white unregistered Yamaha off-road motorcycle was travelling in a south easterly direction on Clifton Road when it failed to negotiate a left-hand bend, lost control and crashed.
A 10-year-old girl who was a pillion passenger died at the scene and the 46-year-old male rider was air lifted to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.
Major Crash investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen the crash or seen the motorcycle riding in the Waterloo area prior to the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
The incident was shortly followed by a second, unrelated accident in Mandurah.
The accident occurred about 4.45pm on Park Ridge Drive south of Mandurah, and saw a person trapped in the crash.
There were two vehicles involved in the crash with no reports of other serious injuries.
A person, who was trapped in the crash, was freed by local fire crews crews before being transported by ambulance to a waiting helicopter by to be transported to hospital.
Investigations into the accident are under way.
