The Peel Cricket Association is hoping it will be a matter of third time lucky as it tries to get its A-grade season underway after a pair of washouts this weekend.
Rain has halted the start of the PCA’s top level for the first two rounds, but sunny forecasts have teams hopeful they will finally be able to hit the turf.
But despite the A-grade not starting yet, grades B, C, D, E and F have all played their first two rounds of the season and the ladder’s are beginning to take shape.
In the B-grade, Baldivis remains the only team left undefeated in the quest for the McIntosh Cup.
Shoalwater Bay sit in second with a win and a draw, equal with Warnrbo and Halls Head who boast the same record and round out the remainder of the top four.
Mandurah sits atop the C-grade table with a pair of wins, with Halls Head, Singleton and Baldivis also placed in the top four.
The peak of the ladder is a tighter competition in the D-grade, with three teams undefeated after back-to-back wins.
Baldivis, Shoalwater Bay and Halls Head are all tussling for top spot with Hillman hot on their heels in fourth.
Halls Head remain the only E-grade team with an unbeaten record. Secret Harbour and Baldivis have a win and a draw each with Hillman in fourth with a one win, one loss record.
Finally, in the F-grade, Halls Head and Singleton are unbeaten, while Secret Harbour and Shoalwater Bay round out the top four.
