Sixteen lucky Murray ratepayers were recently rewarded by the Shire of Murray for paying their rates in full before September 23.
In order to promote timely payment of full rates, the Shire of Murray put in place a Rate Incentive Scheme, in which residents who pay their full rates before a certain date automatically enter in a draw to win one of several prizes.
This year’s prize pool comprised seven different prizes worth $3,100, and the possibility winning one’s full rates back up to $1,000.
Shire of Murray president Maree Reid congratulated the winners and thanked residents who paid their full rates on time.
“Congratulations to this year’s winners and tank you to all rate payers who paid their rates in full and on time,” she said.
“Your timely contributions assist in the delivery of quality services and support our growing population by enabling investment in infrastructure.”
This year’s first place winner was resident Amanda Moore, who won two gold memberships to the Murray Leisure Centre worth $940.
Christopher and Kerry Deacon brought home the second place, a family three-day Fairbridge Festival ticket, including camping, worth $776.
The third prize, a two night weekend stay at the Perth Ambassador Hotel in a Premium Deluxe Room including full buffet breakfast each morning valued at $560, went to John and Glenda Harris.
The $200 Ravenswood Hotel gift card went to David and Monique Tennyenhuis.
Denis and Karen Quill and Barry and Elizabeth Daley claimed double passes to Asher Fisch and WASO: Stuart Skelton Sings Wagenerm, each double pass worth $182.
Ratepayer Mary Schaffer took $180 worth of bottles of assorted Newbliss Wines and Ports home, while Geoffrey Mitting won two Pinjarra Golf Club Friday Meal and Golf Deals for 18 holes of golf and a shared card valued at $110.
Finally, residents Jeanette and Geoffrey McDonald won their full rates back up to $1,000.
