A newly-formed Probus Club in Dawesville is on the lookout for new members from the Dawesville, Wannanup, Falcon and Bouvard areas.
The Probus Club is an offshoot of the Rotary Club which does not involve any public fundraising, but offers opportunities for those looking for social outlets and shared activities.
The club next meets on October 13 from 9.30am until midday. The meeting costs $5, and includes morning tea.
The club recently had retired West Australian crime reporter Cyril Ayris attend.
Mr Ayris worked for the West Australian for 38 years, and has also published 21 books and short stories, including in-depth histories of such famous WA icons as Fremantle Prison, John Forrest and the Leeuwin Lighthouse.
