Police say the death of a man whose body was discovered at Trigg Beach in Perth's northern suburbs this morning is no longer being treated as suspicious.
The body of the man - believed to be 23-years-old - was discovered around 7am at the bottom of stairs just across the road from the popular Yelo cafe .
The body is not believed to have washed up on the shore and an area of the beach has been cordoned off.
At least 30 officers including forensics and detectives have been at the scene, scouring the stairwell and surrounding sand dunes.
A section of West Coast Drive between Karrinyup Road and Bailey Street has been closed to traffic and pedestrians are being turned away from the area.
Police said the Coronial Investigation Unit will now take charge of the investigation and prepare a report for the Coroner.
The area should be re-opened to the public around 3pm.
