Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes, and this week saw plenty at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Waroona.
Batmen, ninja turtles, surf life savers and fairy princesses dressed in their finery to raise money for Make-A-Wish.
Inspired by classmate, Isla Fitzgerald, the school raised $450 for the organisation which grants wishes to seriously ill children.
Isla, who at just four has been through more medical procedures than most people will in a lifetime, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at aged two.
She has undergone chemotherapy and surgery, and spent months in hospital.
Her biggest wish was to taste a snowflake on her tongue and see the snow.
Make-A-Wish made this possible for the brave little girl and her family.
“I ate snow,” she told the Mandurah Mail.
“And today I am Wonder Woman.”
Now classified as NED – No Evidence of Disease – Isla was joined by her whole school on Thursday in an effort to raise funds for other children’s wishes to be granted.
