Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Wally and Willy Wonka among others flooded Saint Damien’s Catholic Primary School last Thursday as students and teachers dressed up as book characters to celebrate Book Week.
The school organised a special assembly based on The Cow Tripped Over the Moon by Tony Wilson, and the students had the chance to parade their colourful costumes in front of friends and their families.
Once they were back in the classrooms, the students also worked on character activities and book reviews.
During recess, they also had the opportunity to listen to old-style storytelling by staff volunteers at the school library.
