Thought-provoking photographic artworks by John Tonkin College senior students will come into focus at the Contemporary Arts Spaces Mandurah (CASM) on September 2.
The Beyond Focus exhibition displays the photographic works created by the college’s year 11 and 12 students.
The artworks have been created using both new and old technologies, from layering to image distortion, and some even feature QR codes for the audience to access unique content such as artist talks and information about techniques used.
Beyond Focus has been running since 2010, displaying the works at the school, but they’ve always hoped for the pieces to be displayed in a public gallery.
JTC chairperson Rhys Williams will officially open the exhibition on September 2 at 6pm.
But art lovers and curious residents will be able to enjoy the students’ artworks until September 25 free of charge.
A free artist talk featuring senior lecturer Ross de Hoog will also be held at CASM on Thursday, September 8 at 6pm.
CASM, at 63 Ormsby Terrace, is opened from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
