The Mandurah Pirates A-grade put up an admirable fight in their grand final match over the weekend, but eventually fell short to the undefeated Rockingham.
The team traveled up with a bus full of players and supporters, looking to win the elusive grand final trophy, but an unfortunate start allowed Rockingham to get an early try, building their confidence and keeping a strong attack against Mandurah.
A few more mishaps from the Pirates allowed Rockingham to head into the half time break of the contest with a 20-7 half time lead.
An early fight back gave Mandurah some confidence, as they slowly worked their way back into the game.
But more unfortunate errors put Rockingham back into the lead, as the undefeated side showed their class and ran away with a 30-12 win.
It was a strong effort from Mandurah, capping off a successful season.
The Pirates will be hosting their annual presentation night on Saturday, September 3.
