Mandurah and Peel Tourism Organisation (MAPTO) has announced the significant appointment of Anita Kane to the position of Business Development Manager, as well as the ratification of the organisation’s new three-year business plan.
MAPTO CEO Karen Priest said while the overarching goals of increasing visitor numbers and length of stay remained, the business plan further detailed the specifics of strategy in a three-year time span.
“The key pillars of the plan we will adhere to will be brand destination marketing, product development, organisational sustainability, education and collaboration,” Ms Priest said.
The business plan tracks key performance indicators and will see MAPTO diversify into international destination marketing targeting selected key audiences.
“I am delighted to have Anita Kane joining us as Business Development Manager this month,” Ms Priest said.
“She comes to us with extensive international tourism marketing, business development and key account management experience. “
Ms Priest said MAPTO were in the midst of delivering the Anytime Adventures brand campaign, and are now marketing it in line with Tourism Western Australia’s own campaign.
“The three year plan outlines key areas of focus specifically, such as self drive and eco-tourism for example, as well as a continuing strategy around adventure tourism, food and wine, golf and developing indigenous tourism options,” she said.
