Two local hairstylists from the Hey Good Looking hair salon won awards at the WA International Hair Stylists Society Battle of the Stylist 2016.
Held at the Forrest Centre in Perth on July 25, Taylor Reid and Jessica Atkins made their salon proud by taking home first place in the Avante-Garde Tag Team category, styling model Jessica Anne Seache.
The girls went with a mythical marine theme for this category, covering their model in body paint before the event and finishing the look by getting her hair ready on the floor before the judges.
“Obviously you’re always going to nitpick everything, as you do with your own work, but overall I’m pretty happy with what we did,” Ms Reid said.
Ms Atkins also won third place in the Bouncy Blow-dry category, with her work on model Minet Coetzee.
Sandy Atkins, owner for Hey Good Looking, said she was very proud of the girls.
“The girls, both being second year apprentices, put a lot of effort into their model achieving a great result,” she said.
Up next for the girls are the International Hair Stylists Society State Championships in September.
