Schools in the Peel region are kicking goals through their football programs, with three schools totaling six nominations for the AFL School Ambassador awards.
Tuart Rise Primary School in Baldivis, along with Halls Head College and Coodanup College were all named as finalists in their respective categories for the awards.
Tuart Rise Primary contributed more finalists than any school in the state, with four staff members being recognised for instructing football development programs.
Paul Polczynski was named as a finalist for the outstanding first year AFL ambassador category, while Jack Green is a finalist for the outstanding female AFL program award.
Narelle Scott and Brigit Wall were both named as finalists for the most outstanding primary AFL school ambassador category.
Narelle Scott, Brigit Wall and Paul Polczynski are all previous award winners.
Joining the four Tuart Rise staff members is Halls Head College’s Tanya Ierace (outstanding female AFL program finalist) and Coodanup College’s Craig Callaghan (outstanding indigenous AFL program finalist).
No region contributed more finalists than the Peel district.
Award winners for the Primary and Secondary School categories will receive a trip for two to Melbourne to watch an AFL Final.
