A man accused of murdering a suspected Mandurah child molester will fight the charge during a three day trial set on Thursday for August.
Ernest Mitchell, 44, in March entered a not guilty plea to murdering Robert Dalliston.
Mr Dalliston was found dead inside his Ward Street home in January 2009, seven days after he was last seen at his local shopping centre.
At the time of his death, Mr Dalliston was charged with 25 counts of indecent dealings and sexual penetration of at least four girls aged under 13 years.
Mr Mitchell, who has been in custody since July 2014, was charged with Mr Dalliston's murder and will go to trial in Perth's District Court on August 16.
His defence lawyer indicated on Thursday that seven experts would be called during the three-day trial.
Mr Mitchell will be remanded at Casuarina Prison until that time.
