The Shire of Murray is currently encouraging local community groups to apply for the first round of the Shire’s 2016-2017 Community Assistance Fund.
The fund is aimed at projects by local groups that ecourage community engagement, participation and inclusion, activation of spaces and facilities, promotion of physical activity and building the sustainability and capability of community organisations.
Suitable applicants can to be incorporated not-for-profit sport, recreation or community organisations.
The Shire organises four rounds of applications throughout the year and allocates up to $1,500 per selected project.
Shire president Maree Reid celebrated the amount of community groups in Murray and encouraged participants to highlight the benefits of their project for the community throughout the application process.
“The funding rounds are competitive, so applicants are encouraged to be clear and concise in their submission, with particular emphasis on how the project or event will benefit both the club and the wider Murray community,” she said.
Applications for round one close on August 1.
