A Mandurah man was fined $12,000 in the local court this week for failing to lodge tax returns seven years running.
Michael David Greenwood pleaded guilty to seven counts of refusing to comply with an order under the Taxation Administration Act.
The court heard Greenwood had a previous conviction for failing to lodge a return and had been given two months to provide the outstanding returns and a fine of $15,600.
He has since lodge the required forms, one year after the expiry of the court order.
The maximum penalty for seven counts of refusing to comply is $59,500.
Greenwood still owes $8800.
On top of the fine he was also ordered to pay court costs of $230.70.
