Pinjarra’s community bank celebrated the opening of its relocated branch office on George Street Tuesday morning.
Bank chairman Barbara Hammond, Shire of Murray Mayor Cr Maree Reid, staff and customers officially opened the new branch, expecting the new offices would grow the community bank’s business.
Mrs Hammond said she hoped the inviting new premises would attract more customers.
“The bank has put back over $350,000 into the community since we opened in 2000,” she said.
“The only way that is possible is through the support of our customers.
“The idea is to grow the business, we’re more inviting and at a better location and the more we can grow the business, the more we can put back into the community.”
Cr Reid said the new branch was more accessible for the community, with a new ATM.
“It’s important that we keep the branch here and more customers mean they’ll stay,” she said.
“Bendigo Bank is very generous with the money they provide to the community.”
The relocated Bendigo Pinjarra Community Bank can be found at 35 George Street, Pinjarra.
