South Mandurah defeat Mandurah
Ten goals to South Mandurah spearhead Bradley Holmes lifted the Falcons to an emphatic win over Mandurah on Sunday.
Holmes’ 10 majors saw him outscore the Mustangs off his own boot, as the Falcons ran the game out 27.11 (173) to 6.8 (44).
South Mandurah started the game well but it was a 17-goal second half that saw them romp home to the huge win.
Aaron Zucconi impressed in the win, while Holmes earned best-on-ground honours.
Brett Pickett booted three goals for Mandurah and was named their best afield.
The win keeps South Mandurah just a game out of the top four behind Waroona.
Waroona defeat Rockingham
Waroona kept their spot in the Peel Football League’s top four after defeating Rockingham in front of a home crowd on Saturday.
The Demons jumped out to a quick start and maintained their lead throughout the game, finishing 14.13 (97) to 7.3 (45) victors.
The Demons booted four goals in the first quarter to Rockingham’s one, setting the tone for the match.
The Rams tried hard to regain their footing in the match with three goals in the second quarter, but eventually fell short.
Jayden Caratti was named Waroona’s best on the ground, while Jack Norman was impressive for the Rams.
Centrals defeat Baldivis
In the upset of the season, Munidjong took down Baldivis with an impressive display of football through their midfield.
Before the match, Centrals sat on a 3-8 win-loss record while Baldivis sat atop the league with a perfect 11 wins.
The result of the game did not change either side’s ladder position, but Mundijong’s prolific match dealt Baldivis their first loss of the season.
Five goals in the second quarter stretched Mundijong to a 24-point lead at half time, allowing them to control the game and finish 13.17 (95) to 9.8 (62) victors.
The win puts Mundijong just one per cent off taking over Rockingham for sixth place on the ladder.
Baldivis now sit only one game clear of Halls Head.
Halls Head defeat Pinjarra
Halls Head claimed their 10th win of the season after they defeated the third-placed Pinjarra at Sir Ross McLarty Oval on Sunday.
The first quarter saw both sides going blow-for-blow, matching each other in a tight affair.
But Halls Head stretched their narrow lead to a 20-point margin throughout the second quarter before taking control in the second half.
Halls Head had 14 scoring opportunities to Pinjarra’s eight in the second half, running away with a 13.15 (93) to 8.9 (57) win.
Dean Buszan booted four goals for Halls Head, while Riese Wilkey matched his effort for Pinjarra.
