A life membership to the Returned and Services League of Australia was awarded to John Southorn, a Pinjarra RSL member on June 18 at the RSLWA Congress.
Mr Southorn is a veteran of the Korean War and has been an RSL member since 1977.
Since joining the Pinjarra RSL in 2002, he served as president for seven years and currently holds the position of warden.
The RSLWA Congress was followed by the RSLWA Centennial Ball, where about 540 members celebrated the organisation’s hundredth year.
RSLWA has 132 sub-branches around the state providing advocacy, welfare, commemorative services and social events for the community.
