It’s not Aldi, it’s not Masters, and it’s certainly not a pedestrian bridge, but Mandurah’s long-awaited ‘next big thing’ is set to open next week.
The Heritage Restaurant management team has spent more than 12 months preparing a century-old, waterside building into the region’s latest dining hot spot.
“All things worth waiting for take time,” venue manager Rob Steward said.
Steward will be joined by head chef Terry Strudwick – former Taste and Graze owner – and manager Eve Lennon.
With a focus on modern Australian food and en emphasis on shared plates, The Heritage team said their specials would involved some “experimentation”, with customer feedback helping to shape the menu.
Describing the venue as “perfectly imperfect,” Steward said the building alone was reason to visit The Heritage.
Another reason for many may be the craft beer on tap, with 40 per cent of the restaurant’s cleansing ales sourced from Mandurah.
By summer the restaurant will be licensed for 240, but initially there will be seating about 130 people.
The Heritage Restaurant opens on Thursday, June 30 for lunch and dinner.
