A group of high-profile cyclists steered their peloton into Mandurah on Saturday, delivering a $5000 cheque to Pat Thomas House.
Ride Against Domestic Violence is the brainchild of Labor MP Tony Buti and Liberal MP Tony Simpson, who joined forces to raise money to fight domestic violence, with a charity ride from Margaret River to Perth.
“Well done to all involved, but especially Tony Buti and Tony Simpson who put this initiative together,” Mandurah City deputy mayor Darren Lee said.
“Also to the Mandurah Over 55 cycling club who tagged along for the ride into Mandurah and Bunnings.
“To David Templeman who MC'd the event, and is keenly interested in joining next year.
“This along with the $5000 donated to the Pat Thomas House will go a long way.”
