Shape Mandurah are currently planning their first Tuckey’s Lane Street Festival, to be held on Friday June 10, and they need the public’s help.
Shape are constructing various garden beds, lighting installations, shop fitouts, lighting installations and more for the event, and are asking anyone who would like to get involved to come down to Tuckey’s Lane (opposite the Brighton Hotel) on Sunday June 5 and help out.
The Street Festival will follow Shape Mandurah’s Placemaking Conference, which will be held at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre during the day and will see international urban development speakers such as The Netherlands’ Hans Oerlermans and Germany’s Tobias Volbert, as well as locals such as Rhys Williams, Paddi Creavey and George Walley.
As part of the Street Festival, the Mandurah Collective will be organising a pop-up shop selling brand-new local fashion, jewelry and body care products from Scoop Deluxe Beard Balm, Broadside Clothing, Wild Child Threads, Sunday Soldiers, Nood Skinfood, Love, Charlie xo and Vsang Art.
Monty’s Realty and Homewares will be displaying two further pop-ups which will include a florist and candlemaker from Sweet Essentials.
As part of the festival, Shape Mandurah and Men of the Trees will be decorating the laneway with fresh herbs, native plants and putting together a very special art installation.
For all those registered with the Placemaking Conference during the day, there will be special discounts provided throughout the festival.
Tickets to the day Conference can be purchased at http://www.manpac.com.au/show/shaping-mandurah-encouraging-connected-city/
Duck Duck Moose is serving a range of delicious food, drinks and organising some funky sounds throughout the night.
