CANNING MP Andrew Hastie recently held a community forum in Pinjarra, alongside the Minister for Communications, Senator Mitch Fifield.
The minister gave updates about the National Broadband Network (NBN) and the Mobile Blackspot Program, and attendees could ask questions to Telstra and NBN representatives.
Topics covered included improving communications for Peel’s growing population, and providing reliable and affordable internet and mobile phone services .
Mr Hastie said that close to 15, 000 premises in Canning already had access to the NBN.
“The Government is committed to ensuring that three-quarters of all homes and businesses across Australia will be able to connect to the NBN or have construction underway in their neighbourhoods by late 2018,” he said.
In April in WA there were 161,000 homes and businesses connected.
