THE Commonwealth Bank branch in Miami Plaza Shopping Centre will close on April 15, the bank has confirmed.
It is understood bank customers were notified by mail last Friday about the closure.
A spokesperson for the bank apologised for the impact of losing the branch.
“In making this decision, we have considered a range of factors to ensure it is in line with a balance of community expectations, customer preferences and business priorities,” she said.
“We have also identified that fewer and fewer customers use this branch as we have seen a steady decline in transactions in favour of alternative banking channels like online and mobile.”
The spokesperson said an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) would remain at the shopping centre for withdrawals and balance enquiries.
The Australia Post outlet at Shop 16, 3 Olive Road, Falcon would be available for customers to complete personal and business banking transactions such as withdrawals, deposits and bill payments during normal business hours.
This would include passbook accounts.
The nearest Commonwealth Bank branch is in Scholl Street, Mandurah.
