Perth set an all-time record for power usage on Monday, as temperatures around the city topped 42 degrees.
At 3.30pm, Western Power set a record for demand peak, topping the old mark of 4068 megawatts set in January 2012.
By 5pm, with the temperature still 41.7 degrees, the demand was up to 4264 megawatts. Western Power compared the electricity demand to that associated with Domain Stadium hosting 160 football games.
Meanwhile, Perth is set to break an 82-year-old record if temperatures, with temperatures set to top 40 degrees on Tuesday, Wednesday and now Thursday.
Monday's 42 degrees is predicted to be matched on Tuesday, with Wednesday set to be 41 degrees and 40 now forecast for Thursday, after an earlier forecast of 39.
Perth reached 40.4 degrees on Sunday afternoon.
The only other time Perth had four-straight 40-degree days was in 1933. It has never had five in a row.
Adelaide holds national capital city record of six consecutive 40-degree days in 1908.
A cooler weekend is forecast for Perth, with Friday 36 and Saturday and Sunday both 31.
