A Perth family who lived without a ceiling in their house for a week after strong winds tore it down says their ordeal was "absolute hell".
Greenwood woman Meghan Davies filmed the terrifying moment her roof collapsed on January 31, leaving a four-foot high pile of debris in the kitchen and living areas.
She and her partner, six-year-old step-daughter and two dogs were forced to live in the damaged house for seven days.
After the initial shock, the reality of their situation sank in.
"I said 'what on earth do we do about this'?" Ms Davies said.
"We've had to stay here because we have two Rottweilers and we can't have them elsewhere.
"We've had no lights, no ceiling, no stove, no nothing really."
Ms Davies said she struggled to find a ceiling repair company that could help straight away, with most saying they wouldn't be able to fix the roof for a week or two.
Andy Churms said his company was busy but decided to put in the extra hours to help Ms Davies and her family.
"It turned out we had to reframe the ceiling as well and they looked after us amazingly," Ms Davies said.
"We came straight out, we're pretty flat out as it is but she needed it doing and we were happy to work the weekend," the Perth Ceilings and Walls owner said.
