THE family who lost everything in a house fire in Halls Head on Tuesday night has shared photographs of the devastation and thanked the Mandurah community for rallying in support.
Nancy Turner, who lived with her parents and brother in the Grasshill Grange house, wrote in a Facebook post that everything the family owned had been destroyed.
“Devastated is an understatement for how we are feeling, especially because this has happened when we were uninsured; the first time in my life that dad hasn't had insurance,” Ms Turner said.
“Walking through the wreck was a surreal experience, none of us can comprehend that this is it.
“I still feel like I am going to be going home later to get changed into my favourite pyjamas and sleep in my bed.”
She said her uncle had set up a GoFundMe page to ask for help.
“I don't think my family, especially my parents, can take much more,” she said.
“We are strong, and have never asked for help, until now.
“Thank you to our neighbours on the street, who alerted my brother Riley Turner, saving his life and our dogs, and for the support and generosity they showed last night and today.”
