PEEL Thunder fans can get excited with Peel Thunder announcing today that Sandover medallist Rory O’Brien would return to the club.
The 2013 medal winner has spent the past five year at East Fremantle after starting his WAFL League career at Peel Thunder.
The talented midfielder won Peel’s best and fairest in 2006 and 2010 and East Fremantle’s best and fairest in 2011.
“I'm really looking forward to mentoring and being a part of the development of the young guys at the club. It's going to be an exciting 2016,” O’Brien said on Peel Thunder’s website.
“The location and being closer to home was definitely a part of the appeal. I am looking forward to spending more time with my wife and kids.”
Head coach Cam Shepherd said, “We are really pleased that Rory wants to continue his career at Peel in 2016 and beyond. His experience (200 WAFL games) and training ethic will be invaluable to our young list”.
“We are committed to consolidating our position following our first finals campaign in 2015 and believe that Rory can be a part of our continued on field success,” he said.
