PEEL representatives Emma Jones, Shanae Wardrope and Jessica Wade returned home from the under 15s National Indoor Hockey Championships in Wollongong New South Wales with gold.
The girl’s team finished 2nd on the standings after the pool matches, with four wins, one draw (against Queensland) and one loss (against NSW).
They then defeated QLD in the semi-final 4-3, scoring off a penalty corner which was awarded on the siren, to play NSW in the final.
The final was a hard fought game by both teams, with the score at level at one each at full time.
The game was sent into a dramatic final shoot-out to determine who would take home the 2016 title.
The WA girls calmly claimed victory with two goals to zero from the penalty shoot-outs.
Jessica, who captained the team in the final, was extremely proud of all the girls and how they played throughout the tournament.
The win was extra special for Jessica, the coach Erin Judd and two other team members who claimed back-to-back titles, after the under 15 girls won gold at the 2015 National Indoor Hockey Championships in Melbourne.
Emma, Shanae and Jessica all play with the Peel Rebels.
They played the 2015 season with the 9/10 girls team, who went through the season undefeated and won the premiership in the Hockey WA 9/10 A Reserve Division
They also played with the Rebels Ladies team in the Hockey WA Ladies Promotion Grade.
