Top four Mandurah schools based on ATAR median

THE results are in for Mandurah schools with Mandurah Catholic College topping the WACE and ATAR year 12 statistics for the region.
Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and the Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE) results were released by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority last week.
Eight Mandurah high schools were listed with four failing to make the cut due to a lack of eligible ATAR students.
These schools included Austin Cove Baptist, Coodanup Community and Foundation Christian colleges and Pinjarra High School.
Mandurah Catholic College had the highest percentage of students to graduate with 98.19 per cent of 166 eligible year 12 students.
78 of these students completed school with an ATAR and their median was 78.45.
Out of 146 Frederick Irwin year 12 students 128 obtained an ATAR result by sitting at least four exams with a school median of 73.55 per cent.
Of 98 Mandurah Baptist College year 12 students, 72 received an ATAR and 92.86 per cent graduated.
The only public school in Mandurah to make it into the table was Halls Head College with 42 students out of a possible 131 to receive an ATAR. 89.31 per cent of their students graduated.
John Tonkin College had the highest percentage of students who achieved a certificate two or higher in vocational education and training (VET) courses.
With 70 students doing VET out of 128 year 12 John Tonkin students, 98.57 per cent achieved a certificate two or higher.
This compared to Coodanup Community College which had 28 year 12 students out of 35 studying VET courses. 50 per cent achieved their certificate two or higher.
