A man who was bashed in an unprovoked attack on a Belmont street has told how two "unbelievably violent" men broke his leg, jaw and nose before he managed to escape to a nearby friend's house.
Keith, who does not want to be identified, said he was walking down Raleigh Street on Sunday, November 15, with three friends when a car nearly hit him on the path and then pulled up in front of him and two men got out.
"As soon as I got near them they came over and without warning one of them hit me and I think I must have went straight to the ground," he said.
"When I tried to get away they started stamping on my leg and must have been stamping on my face.
"I don't think I was unconscious at anytime, but the whole thing was a bit blurry because I took a fair few blows to the head."
Keith said he hoped his attackers, who were driving in a white van, are found and locked up for "a long time."
"They were unbelievably violent," he said.
"[It] seems like they were just out looking for somebody to attack."
Keith, who moved to Australia from Ireland in 2009, had to have facial surgery to repair the damage he sustained during the attack including a broken jaw, broken nose and collapsed eye socket.
Detectives are hunting two men in relation to the attack which occurred on Raleigh Street in Belmont on Sunday, November 15.
The first man is described as being dark skinned, 200 centimetres tall, 35 – 40 years old with a medium to solid build. He was wearing a green t-shirt.
The second man is described as being dark skinned, 195 centimetres tall, 35 – 40 years old with a medium to solid build and short black hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt.
