MANDURAH City’s award-winning coach Doug Hesketh has confirmed he will remain at Peelwood Parade for the 2016 season and is ready to win more trophies.
Hesketh’s side took out the Western Australian State League title in 2015, losing only two games all season.
The in-demand coach then won the WA Coach of the Year award and his team recently won the Peel Sports team of the year accolade.
After a short break in the United Kingdom, Hesketh returned to inform the club he wants to continue in 2016.
And he has wasted no time in appointing star player Jordan Rhodes as the club’s new under-18 coach.
“Jordan is an exceptional player, a qualified coach and having been schooled as a professional in the youth team with Charlton Athletic in the UK, I think it’s a perfect opportunity for him to pass on some of his experience to our up-and-coming players,” Hesketh said.
“Players who want to improve and develop, come to Mandurah where you will benefit from our experienced qualified coaching staff.
“This is a great fit with great potential.”
Hesketh said he still wants to restructure and will be adding to the senior coaching ranks in 2016.
“This is to maximise the quality of training and experience the players receive at every training session and through development,” he said.
The club will hold senior trials for under-18s and first team through December (December 8, 10, 15 and 17) at Peelwood Parade from 7pm.
