SIX State Emergency Services personnel from Bunbury and Australind travelled to the Esperance fire zone on Sunday, November 22 to support fire crews battling the threatening blaze.
Four people from Bunbury SES and two from Australind SES left for the seven-hour journey to Esperance on Sunday morning.
Bunbury SES deputy manager Kevin Regan said the local crew would provide logistics support to the fire-fighters, bringing vital food and water supplies and communications.
They are expected to return to Bunbury on Wednesday.
A total of four separate emergency warnings were issued on Sunday for fires outside of Perth and Esperance.
On Monday morning “watch and act” notices remained in place for Bindoon in the Shire of Chittering and Myrup in the Shire of Esperance.
Bushfire advice warnings were in place for Julimar State Forest in Shire of Toodyay and Ellenbrook in the City of Swan.
In Bindoon, the fire was described as controlled but not contained, while the Myrup fire - which was travelling at 1.2km/h - was contained but not controlled.
Both the Toodyay and Ellenbrook blazes were contained and controlled.
Last week the City of Bunbury announced it will donate $10,000 to the Perth Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund to help those affected by the Esperance fires.
Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said the donation has been made on behalf of the Bunbury community.
“These catastrophic fires have resulted in the loss of lives, properties, crops and stock,” Mr Brennan said.
“It is in times like this that we need to pull together as a community to help those in need.”
