A DUDLEY Park woman whose lawyer said was “taken advantage of”, was fined in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday for a string of offences including possession of explosives.
Sheryn Danielle Swansen pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, methylamphetamine and dexamphetamine, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of dangerous goods.
The charges stem from a June 12 warrant which saw Swansen’s Coolibah Avenue home searched by police.
During the raid officers uncovered more than three grams of meth, 80 dexamphetamine tablets and three grams of cannabis, as well as an extendable baton and six tubes of power gel explosives.
Swansen’s lawyer said his client, who is on a disability pension, had found the explosives in her yard, and that there were no “sinister” plans to use them.
He said Swansen had likely been taken advantage of by others, and referred to the mother of two’s offences as an “aberration of sorts”.
Magistrate Vivien Edwards fined Swansen $1500 plus court costs.
The drugs, weapon and explosives will be destroyed.
