A man told the Mandurah Magistrates Court he breached his bail because he was hearing voices and living in bushland.
Steven Brodigan was in custody when he appeared on Friday afternoon for several charges including breach of bail and breach of a violence restraining order.
He spoke over the magistrate to tell her he wasn’t guilty and it was down to a clerical error that he breached his restraining order.
“I have mental health problems and keep getting cut off from my support after people ban me from Mandurah town centre and Port Hedland,” Brodigan said.
Brodigan said he was hearing things which other people couldn’t.
“I’m not a liar though,” he said.
He pleaded guilty to a breach of bail and not guilty to breach of violence restraining order.
Brodigan was refused bail and remanded in custody for a psychiatric report.
His next appearance via video link is November 20.
