PEEL Thunder 17-year-old Noah Hura took to the MCG ahead of Saturday’s AFL grand final in a pre-match curtain raiser.
Hura was part of the NAB AFL Academy squad which was made up of players eligible to be drafted at the end of 2016 that took on the Allies.
The Allies comprised of 2015 draft prospects from New South Wales, Australian Capital Teritory, Tasmania, Queensland and the Northern Territory.
In a tight opening half the Allies led by 10 points at half time before extending its lead to 23 points heading into the final term.
The margin grew to more than six goals in the final term before a run of five goals from the Academy side reduced the deficit to just seven points.
The Allies settled kicking the final goal of the game to win by 14 points, 13.10 (88) to 12.1 (74).
Hura was among the best players for the Academy, gathering 15 disposals in his side’s loss.
The talented midfielder was part of the Peel Thunder Colts campaign this season, averaging 19 disposals per game.
Hura missed the Colts preliminary final against Swan Districts after injuring himself in the side’s semi-final win against West Perth.
