Construction has began on the new Aldi supermarket at Halls Head Central, as part of the centre's $54 million redevelopment.
This week the concrete walls of Halls Head’s new 1542 square metre Aldi store were erected to create the new discount supermarket, which is set to be one of the first in Western Australia.
“Customers today are savvier and crave diverse retail experiences and we are excited that Halls Head will welcome one of Western Australia’s first Aldi stores," centre manager Nigel Haines said.
“We’re pleased the local community will have the chance to discover Aldi’s unique shopping experience, which is about helping Australian shoppers live richer lives for less by stretching their grocery dollars further without compromising on quality.”
Aldi is one of Australia’s fastest growing retailers and is delighted to be establishing a store within the Halls Head community as part of its statewide expansion plans.
The Halls Head Central Aldi store is one of three set for the region, with stores also planned for central Mandurah and Lakelands.
“The future Aldi Halls Head store will provide local shoppers with award-winning groceries and popular Special Buys, together with fresh fruit, vegetables and bread delivered daily,” an ALDI Australia spokesperson said.
“It will also create 15 to 20 full- and part-time employment positions for local residents.
"We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff and on offering a working environment that supports career development and employee satisfaction.”
Construction of the Halls Head Central redevelopment kicked off in March 2015 and the redeveloped shopping centre is scheduled to open in early 2016.
“The start of construction of the new Aldi store is an exciting milestone for our team and the wider local community as we work to deliver a completely new Halls Head experience which will also feature Coles, a brand new Kmart, a mini major and more than 55 specialty stores,” Mr Haines said.
The centre remains fully open for business while redevelopment works are being carried out.
