Mandurah detectives are seeking witnesses to an incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning in which a 36 year old man received a serious head injury.
About 1.30am the victim was in company with his 30-year-old female partner in a vehicle parked in the carpark of the Mandurah Aquatic Centre.
A light blue BMW attended the location, and four people exited the car.
Two of them were brandishing firearms, with one firearm believed to be shotgun.
The four approached the victim and his partner in their vehicle, before one of the four smashed the driver’s side window.
The victim was then dragged from the car into nearby bushland where he was assaulted.
The victim sustained a serious head injury during this ordeal, and he remains in hospital receiving medical treatment.
Police are seeking witnesses and assistance in identifying those responsible for this incident.
In particular, police are seeking information on the light-coloured two-door BMW seen in the area at the time.
