INDEPENDENT retailers IGA is offering 10,000 free children’s tickets for Western Australian children to attend this year’s IGA Perth Royal Show.
The offer is exclusively available at more than 200 participating West Australian IGA supermarkets.
The free tickets provide children under 16 years access to IGA Kid’s Day, September 30 – a day dedicated to children, with more than 12 hours of free entertainment available.
Metcash Food and Grocery WA General Manager Grant Ramage said IGA wanted to give back to the community who supported them each day they shop at their local independent IGA.
“IGA is providing shoppers with the opportunity to receive a free IGA Kid’s Day ticket for each $50 they spend on groceries in store from Saturday, August 29, (limit of four free tickets per shopper), until the participating stores ticket allocation runs out,” he said.
“We’re proud of our seven-year partnership with the IGA Perth Royal Show and are excited to give kids across the state free access to such a popular event when they shop with IGA.”
Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia chief Peter Cooper said IGA’s free ticket initiative was an important passageway to help the show reach families and communities across the state.
“IGA’s strong presence in Western Australia and its connection with communities and people is unparalleled,” he said.
IGA Kid’s Day will have events for animal and food lovers and thrill seekers, including IGA Cooking with Kids classes, IGA Follow the Yellow Brick Road – a two-hour trail educating children about healthy food and agriculture, the Alpaca Fleece Display and Dinosaur Adventures – an interactive prehistoric theatre show never seen before in Perth.
Throughout the show, IGA will be hosting cooking demonstrations in the IGA Fresh from WA Pavilion by a variety of Perth chefs, including TV personalities Chloe and Kelly, Rachel McSweeney and Dale Sniffen.
IGA will also have visitor essentials at the IGA pop up store stocked with healthy options such as nuts, fruit and vegetables and artisan bread.
The IGA Perth Royal Show will take place at Claremont Showgrounds on September 26 –October 3.
Local stores participating in this initiative include IGA Dawesville, IGA X-press Dwellingup, IGA Falcon, IGA Mandurah, IGA Port Bouvard and SUPA IGA Waroona.
