Global supermarket giant, Aldi officially announced it will be opening its first supermarkets in Western Australia next year, including three in Mandurah.
Due to open from mid-2016, Aldi plans to build 70 stores including one in Lakelands, Halls Head and Mandurah central.
Each store is expected to have about 1000sqm in retail space, manned by 15-20 employees.
An Aldi spokesperson said the company had been working behind the scenes to understand what Western Australian shoppers wanted.
“As well as property planning, ALDI’s team has been working behind the scenes to understand the unique wants and needs of Western Australian shoppers,” Aldi managing director for Western Australia Viktor Jakupec said.
“Community outreach has revealed that while many Western Australians are unfamiliar with our exciting discount retail format, many are eager to experience the ALDI difference.”
All three Mandurah stores are expected to be open for business by the end of next year.
