Police and emergency services will continue to search for a missing Merredin man today after he left his home early on Monday morning and never returned.
Local police, SES volunteers and DFES search teams are out looking for 63 year old Trevor Angus Little who went missing from his home on Pollock Avenue in Merredin at 6.00am.
He told family members he was walking into town but never returned home. The last confirmed sighing of Mr Little was in a paddock about 5.5km south of Merredin at about 9.30am on Monday morning.
Inspector Peter Norrish said SES crews from Northam and Kalgoorlie have joined the search this morning.
"We have set up a systematic search from where Mr Little was last seen," he said.
"We have local police and community members as well as those from all surrounding areas involved in the search.
"The air wing will head out later today when conditions clear and the mounted section will also be on the ground.
Mr Little was recently discharged from hospital and may be disorientated or in a confused state. He is dark skinned, approximately 175cms tall, slim build with short dark hair and a greying beard.
He was last seen wearing a dark green coat with brown/orange tartan checks inside, an old shirt underneath the coat, dark trousers and sand shoes.
"We are very hopeful in finding Mr Little; as he was on foot it is unlikely he is too far away and there is nothing suggesting he has gone anywhere other than the Merredin area," Inspector Norrish said.
Anyone who sees Mr Little or knows of his location is asked to call police on 131 444.
