THE man responsible for a crash which left two people critically injured earlier this year pleaded guilty on Friday for his role in the incident.
Joel Jeffery was charged with two counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing bodily harm following the April 19 crash which happened in North Yunderup.
The court heard Jeffery had been driving his Nissan Navara on Pinjarra Road about 9pm when he lost control at the Tonkin Drive turn-off.
Police said he was driving too fast and failed to negotiate the turn before slamming into a Toyota Yaris.
At the time of the accident Jeffery registered a blood alcohol reading of .097.
One 22-year-old victim suffered respiratory arrest at the scene and sustained a skull and spinal fracture as well as a subdural haemorrhage.
The other victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
Both were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital where they underwent treatment in the intensive care unit.
Jeffery, who was convicted in 1999 of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, will be sentenced on July 10.
