Mandurah detectives have charged a 22-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a serious assault in Erskine on Tuesday, June 23, in which a 19-year-old woman was injured.
It is alleged about 4pm, the woman was the driver in a silver Ford KA travelling along Oakleigh Drive when a green Ford Falcon station wagon rear ended her vehicle outside a medical centre.
The woman confronted the driver of the other vehicle and when she leant in to speak with the driver, the man reversed his vehicle quickly, pulling the woman under the vehicle and running over her.
She is currently in hospital with serious injuries.
The Lake Clifton man has been charged with grievous bodily harm; fail to stop after accident and no authority to drive (fines suspended).
He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on July 14.
Police would still like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or either vehicle prior to the crash.
